Since moving to Culland Hall in Derbyshire in xx with her family, Lucy Thompson developed the gardens etc etc.

Lucy has raised XXX hosting and managing plat fairs etc etc

The garden now covers four acres, wrapped around the house and divided into a series of clearly defined areas, separated by hedges or walls and each with its own particular focus.

Running out from the south front of the house, which is swathed in the roses Seagull and Albertine, is the main lawn, which is terraced and broken by two substantial borders, the upper. one using mostly pink flowers and silver foliage, the lower one largely devoted to blue and yellow flowers. Both borders contain many examples of Mrs Thompson's beloved roses, including Graham Thomas, The Pilgrim and Frühlingsgold in the lower one and Barbara Austin, Roseraie de l'Hay and Rosa glauca in the upper, with the rambler Paul Transon cascading over the stone well at the end.
